Osteopathy is based on the understanding that our bodies are self healing and self regulating. It emphasizes the unity of the body and the interrelationship of structure and function. When anatomical structures become unbalanced or restricted because of injury and compensation, the body can't function at its full capacity, which can lead to dysfunction, pain, and disease process. Osteopathic manual treatment works to restore proper body mechanics and restore motion where it’s been lost, in all soft tissues including fascia, muscles and ligaments. The goal is to gently coordinate these structures in order to free up the nerves, arteries, veins and lymphatic vessels and promote healing by allowing the body to function as the self healer it is. Because changes are made gently and slowly over time, the body has time to integrate the changes and the results are effective and long lasting.

Jessica is an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner and a member of the Ontario Osteopathic Association. The OOA is recognized by all insurance companies in Ontario.

Jessica studied at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy. The education at the CAO is rooted in the treatment principles of Classical Osteopathy.

“Osteopathy is an amazing method of healing because it is based on the laws of nature and on the intrinsic ability of the body to heal itself. It has been so exciting to continually develop a deeper understanding of anatomy, physiology and the mechanics of how our amazing bodies move.”
